Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

Please note: this policy is a plain-English draft and general information only. It is not legal advice. Please confirm it reflects how TradeStream actually handles information, and have it reviewed by a qualified adviser, before relying on it.

TradeStream is a lead-capture system for Australian trade businesses, operated by Nathan Barclay (ABN 56 463 074 792), based in Victoria, Australia ("TradeStream", "we", "us" or "our"). We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or complain about it.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal information we collect through this website (tradestream.com.au), including our enquiry and demo forms, and any related communications. Demo websites we host for individual trade businesses, and the separate TradeStream operator application, may have their own arrangements.

2. What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that we reasonably need. Depending on how you use the site, this can include:

We do not generally seek to collect sensitive information (such as health or financial details). Please do not send us sensitive information through the website forms.

3. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will make the cookie banner appear again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.

4. How we use your personal information

We use personal information to:

If we ever want to use your information for a purpose you would not reasonably expect, we will seek your consent first.

5. How the AI processing works

Our lead-capture system uses artificial intelligence to process the job description and photos you submit, so it can summarise the job and prepare a brief for the trade business. The information is processed to deliver this service to you and the relevant trade business. This processing is carried out using third-party AI providers acting on our behalf (currently Anthropic, with OpenAI as a backup), which may process the information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We do not use your submitted enquiry content to train public AI models.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. For example, our AI processing (Anthropic and OpenAI) and some of our hosting and communication providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using reputable providers, access controls and secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Just contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. In some limited cases the law allows us to decline a request, and if so we will explain why.

9. Making a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy
